These terms govern every self-drive package, chauffeured trip, and bike rental booked through Auriga in Leh, Ladakh. By making a booking with us, you agree to the terms below.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to anyone who books a vehicle, package, or service through Auriga's website, phone line, or in person at our Leh office ("you", "the renter"). "We", "us", and "Auriga" refer to the rental operator providing the vehicle and associated services.
The original driving license, a government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID), and — where applicable — local address proof must be presented at the time of pickup. Photocopies alone are not accepted for the license or photo ID.
A booking is confirmed only once the advance payment (or full payment, where applicable) has been received. The balance amount, along with a refundable security deposit, is collected at the time of vehicle handover. The security deposit amount depends on the vehicle category and is communicated at the time of booking.
Several routes in Ladakh — including Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, and Tso Moriri — require an Inner Line Permit (ILP). Where mentioned as included in your package, we handle the ILP paperwork on your behalf. You are responsible for providing accurate identification details required for this application; incorrect details provided by you may delay or invalidate the permit.
Where included in your package, our support line is available for the duration of your trip to assist with breakdowns, punctures, or route guidance. In the rare case a vehicle cannot be repaired on the spot, we will arrange a replacement or partial refund for the affected period, at our discretion, based on the circumstances.
You are responsible for the vehicle for the full duration of the rental. Any damage, loss, or theft occurring during this period — beyond normal wear and tear — will be assessed against the security deposit, with any excess cost payable by you. Basic insurance coverage is included as standard; coverage limits and exclusions are shared at the time of booking.
Vehicles must be returned by the agreed date and time. Late returns are charged on a pro-rata daily basis unless an extension has been approved by us in advance and is subject to availability.
Ladakh's mountain passes and roads are occasionally closed due to snowfall, landslides, or other conditions beyond our control. Auriga is not liable for delays, itinerary changes, or losses arising from such events, though we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative route, reschedule, or partial refund where possible. Auriga's liability in connection with any booking is limited to the amount paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect losses, including missed flights, hotel bookings, or other travel arrangements affected by delays outside our control.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from a booking will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Leh, Union Territory of Ladakh.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable regulations. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.
